London artist PTMadden creates fine art photography, drawings on maps, Numberist, Chaosist and Iconist acrylic paintings, analogue photomontage, sound-art recordings, spoken-word recordings, text-based works, screenprints, digital prints and artist's books. He is currently known primarily for his photographic piece Sex Pistols April 1976 which has been exhibited at Wilkinson Gallery London, The British Library, Sunderland Museum and Gallery, Exhibition Research Lab at the Liverpool John Lennon Art and Design Building and Liverpool Hornby Library. His Easter 2019 solo show of acrylic paintings at Chester Art Centre entitled Resurrection featured a six-panel altar-piece after El Greco which was personally endorsed by the Dean of Chester and one image was displayed onstage during the cathedral's Good Friday choral concert. In 2005 he was commissioned by Pete Shelley to design the packaging for Buzzcocks' album Flatpack Philosopy and single Wish I Never Loved You. In 2019 Elvis Costello bought a portrait of blues guitarist Peter Green direct from CAC. Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones purchased an A0 fine art photograph from Sex Pistols April 1976 and four of The Impossible #1 screen prints and later in the year Pistols' bass player Glen Matlock acquired one print of The Impossible #1. PTMadden is currently editing half a million digital photographs taken in Britain and Paris since 2005 to create a series of eighteen artists' books which will be available from Tate bookshops in 2021.
