‘Don’t worry’ is an acrylic painting on canvas by Bryn Sutcliffe
Piece size unframed 60 by 60 cm
Bryn began to experiment with many different medias at college and developed his skills using paint. At university he was encouraged to integrate conceptual ideas behind his work and hone in on particular medias which he preferred to use. Today, Bryn mainly works in oil and acrylic paint but find acrylics lend themselves better to the spontaneous approach in his work. Bryn specialises in figurative art in acrylic paint as he has always been fascinated and inspired by the human form.
'Painting has been a way of life for me now for over 10 years, selling thousands of pieces of work in many countries, being commissioned by museums and represented in London, primarily known for my figurative paintings. Last year I began painting live at charity auctions (like Lords cricket ground), with sports legends like Kevin Keegan, David Haye and Sir Garfield Sobers, raising over 20 thousand for various charities. Of course, this is currently on hold due to the social distancing regulations, and my work had taken a new direction into hand- designed and hand-painted pop art style portraits, something I never saw myself doing, but as a direct positive response to the global pandemic, my versatility allows me to adapt and reinvent my styles and approach. I’m sure many more unexpected things are to come from my work as it’s ever evolving like my own life’s journey'.
