Luciana Hermida is a visual artist and graphic designer from Buenos Aires (Argentina), based in the United Kingdom. She brings a unique approach to mixed media art through her work and looks to challenge the way we perceive reality.
The artworks from this series ‘The Weird and Wonderful Deep Sea Creatures'. I explore the beauty and the unusual appearance of elements that belong to the deep sea, seaweed, monstrous fishes... I embrace the possibilities of combining them with unusual objects and changing their natural environment in order to provoke thought. Juxtaposition is key in this series, and generally an element that always appears in my work. Bright bold colours are always present in my art and especially in this series, they gain protagonism and bring to life the creatures that live in the deep dark sea, putting them under 'a different light'. All artworks come with certificate of authenticity.
Luciana and her work have been featured on the BBC1 show ‘Home is Where the Art Is’ in April 2019 and appeared on Maeve Doyle's show on Soho radio.
