'View from The Balcony, Tide Coming In' is an original oil painting on canvas by Sue Walsh.
73 cm x 95 cm
'This painting is all about light, air and water.
There is some land over to the left which shows a distant glimpse of Man's Head and the water in the foreground is intermingling with the sand on Porthmeor Beach.
It took several years to complete this painting.
The effect of the impasto paint in the foreground lends some perspective to the composition and helps the viewer to imagine themselves to be very close to the water.
The effect of light on this painting, if illuminated predominantly by natural light, will change throughout the day.'

‘The application of paint to canvas or board using brushes, palette knife and fingers result in passages of impasto as well as washes of translucent colour. The trick is knowing when to stop.
The subject matter is often light, air and water. The objective to create pieces that evoke emotions linked to memories’.
